Dr. Mikaela Betka
After 6 years as a practicing developmental optometrist in St. Joseph, Michigan and Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Mikaela Betka co-founded inSIGHT Vision Performance Center.
Dr. Mikaela’s specialty and primary focus is corrective vision therapy, with specialties in both pediatric and adult patient care and treatment. She was born and raised in nearby Diller, Nebraska, after which she attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biopsychology in 2011. Dr. Mikaela subsequently attended and graduated from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2015. She then completed a Residency in Vision Therapy and Vision Rehabilitation at Wow Vision Therapy in St. Joseph, Michigan. She is one of only a few optometrists in Nebraska to have completed this specialized vision therapy training and development.
Dr. Mikaela completed her Fellowship in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development in 2019. She then became Co-Founder of inSIGHT Vision Performance Center in 2021. Dr. Mikaela loves helping patients overcome learning and life hurdles and challenges by enhancing their visual processing abilities, enabling greater success in school, sports and life performance.
Dr. Mikaela is married to her husband, Logan, and in 2020, they welcomed their first child, Baker. When not providing patients with exceptional care, she loves spending time with her family, their dog, and working on her golf game!
Erin Devine
After working in and practicing vision therapy for over 10 years in Lincoln, Nebraska, Erin Devine is Co-Founder and Patient Care Coordinator for inSIGHT Vision Performance Center.
Erin got started in eye care as a contact lens technician at EyeCare Specialties in 2008, and made the switch to vision therapy in 2010. After quickly experiencing its impact on patient’s lives, Erin knew vision therapy and development would become her full-time career focus, and she took that step in 2017, when time she became Practice Manager of the Center for Vision Development, and held that position until co-founding inSIGHT Vision Performance Center in 2021.
Erin loves helping her patients reach their life goals and maximum potential in all areas of life impacted by vision. She especially loves seeing patients experience the “wow moments” of Vision Therapy as they achieve improved vision and better vision performance. Erin is currently working toward her COVT (Certified Optometric Vision Therapist), and will complete this program in early 2022.
Erin is married to her husband, Will, and they have two children, Remington and Ila. When she is not performing world-class vision therapy and patient care, Erin loves spending time outdoors with her family and chasing after their kids!
Kelsey McIntyre
After working in vision therapy since 2016, Kelsey is now a vision therapist at inSIGHT Vision Performance Center.
In 2014, Kelsey graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in English, as well as minors in Russian and Philosophy. Upon graduation, Kelsey began a career teaching literature and writing, as well as training children one-on-one in areas of brain training and cognitive ability. In 2016, after speaking with a friend who had an incredible experience as a vision therapy patient, Kelsey made the switch and has never looked back. She is currently working towards her COVT (Certified Optometric Vision Therapist), and will complete this program in early 2022.
Kelsey loves getting to know the patients with whom she works and finding ways to tailor therapy programs and exercises to their specific needs. She especially enjoys seeing patients begin to enjoy learning and reading as their visual abilities allow them to do so at a higher level.
When she’s not working with patients, Kelsey enjoys hiking and being outdoors, reading writing fiction, and spending time with family and friends.
Cherise Matz
Cherise graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2012, earning a degree in Music, as well as minors in English and Sociology -Anthropology. After graduating, Cherise began teaching music, as well as working with and tutoring special needs children. It was through this experience that she was introduced to vision therapy.
She began working as a full-time vision therapist in 2017 at EyeCare Specialties, and made the transition to inSIGHT Vision Performance Center in 2021. Cherise achieved her COVT (Certified Optometric Vision Therapist) in April of 2021.
Cherise loves how improving a patient’s vision and visual abilities helps them achieve their goals in all areas of life, as well as tremendously boosting their confidence.
When she’s not helping patients accomplish their goals, Cherise enjoys spending time with her family and friends, crafting, and playing the piano.
